At this point, you have likely set up your Facebook, Twitter and Google + accounts for your chiropractic practice. Are you wondering what to do next? The answer is engage your audience! By crafting engaging posts, your social media efforts will reach a wider audience and greatly contribute to your business.

By using social media to build your online community, you are inviting your patients to engage with your chiropractic practice and personally connect with you and your staff. While there are countless ways to expand user engagement on your social media sites, I’ve created a list of the top 4 types of engaging posts.

1. Photos. Adding a photo is one of the easiest ways to get a ‘Like’ (Facebook), a retweet (Twitter) or a share (Google +). The photo you post can be a picture of your office, a funny cartoon about chiropractic care, or even a picture of your staff. The goal is to get users to interact with the post, so make sure it is interesting. However, always make sure that the photo relates your services, philosophy, or some area of your practice.

2. Videos. Posting a video is a great way to reach a wider audience. Videos posted online have a way of making their way across the Internet and reaching a broad audience. Often, this reach is due to shares on social media sites like Facebook. Make sure the video is interesting and grabs the viewer’s attention, provides interesting information or highlights what makes your practice special.

3. Pose a Question. Rather than posting a question on your Facebook that invites only ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers, craft a question that invites broader responses. For example, ask your patients to share how they have experienced success under your care, invite questions about your services, or ask for their feedback or opinion.

4. The Cool Factor. Sharing something cool about a breakthrough in chiropractic care or buzz about a particular type of service is a great way to engage your patients. If you read an article that shares great tips or tells a cool story of success, share it with your patients on social media.
