Original chiropractic content, particularly written content, is integral to any successful search engine optimization strategy for chiropractors. Once you’ve optimized the pages on your chiropractic website, it is necessary to keep adding content; this is not only necessary for SEO, but also to keep site visitors engaged. The easiest way to continue to add fresh, optimized content to your website is with a chiropractic blog.
Writing a chiropractic blog has a variety of SEO benefits. A blog allows you to create fresh, timely content; build a following; extend your reach to social media; and get more website traffic.
Create a Schedule – Part of your chiropractic SEO strategy should include a content creation calendar. The simplest (and least stressful) way to manage a calendar is by creating a list of topics to be written about each month. Commit to writing one 300-400 word blog each month. If you aren’t sure what to write about, try starting with blogs about some of your most asked about chiropractic services.
Optimize Your Blogs – While any blog content will have some SEO benefit, it’s better to properly optimize your chiropractic blog for both online users and search engines. Write your blog around a chiropractic keyword and it will naturally include relevant content. Just remember not to “keyword stuff” your blog – allow the keyword to be used naturally. Also be sure to include the keyword in the blog title and add an optimized, relevant image or video to the blog. Be sure to add a clear call-to-action (CTA) at the end of your blog. Share on Social Media – Get the word out about your most recent blog by sharing it on your social media pages. This enables you to reach a wider audience of potential patients, creates brand recognition, and keeps your current patients engaged. Include 2-3 hashtags in your post that are relevant to your blog. For example, a chiropractor’s blog about spinal decompression may have these hashtags: #BackPain #SpinalDecompression #Chiropractic.
Build Your Audience – There are a few ways to build your chiropractic blog audience (and by extension traffic to your website). First, enable an RSS feed for your blog. An RSS feed allows blog readers to subscribe to your blog and be notified each time you post something new. Another way to build your audience is to send out your blog as a newsletter. A monthly newsletter that doesn’t aim to sell anything, but rather educate, is a great way to grow your readership.
