Graph Search is Facebook’s latest feature which was released earlier this month. At the present time, Graph Search is available in Beta mode only for those who have requested to try it before it rolls out to all Facebook users. Graph Search is being named as the 3rd pillar of Facebook in line with Newsfeed and Timeline.
Graph Search will allow users to search throughout Facebook for more detailed information than simply searching for a page or person.
Search results through Graph Search will be based on factors including information shared by your business and the different connections of the individual searching. With the feature, you can search for information in the categories of: People, Places, Interests, and Photos.
Due to the fact that Facebook Graph Search includes places information in their search algorithm, it is essential that you make sure your business has a strong Facebook presence.
Claim your business places page by searching for your practice. If your practice does not appear in a Facebook search, it means you need to create a new page. When you create your page, you will need to fill out all the information (name, address, website information) both accurately and consistently.
Once you have established your Facebook places page, you need to promote it. Start gathering “Likes” from your patients. An easy way to do this is by uploading your contacts list directly to your Facebook page. Facebook will automatically send an email to your contacts encouraging them to like your page.
Additionally, Facebook “check-ins” are deemed as important social signals. People who “check-in” to your business confirm they were actually at your location. This increases the likelihood your business will show up higher in the rankings when local users search for a chiropractic business. To encourage check-ins, offer patients incentives when they come to your office such as a check-in only special or run a check-in contest.
